Books Make Prizes…

Gateshead Libraries has launched an exciting new competition to encourage young people to use their local library and to read more books.

The competition has two categories with some fantastic prizes. For the 4 to 7 year olds the prizes have been chosen from the latest Christmas wish list and include Baby Annabell and Roboraptor. For the 8 to 15 year olds, prizes include a lap top computer, a digital camera, a mini ipod and a hand held games console. There will also be a monthly draw in both categories.

The competition will run until 31 March 2006. Entrants to the competition must borrow a book on at least four separate occasions. An entry card will be stamped on each visit and when the card is complete with four stamps, and a simple question paper answered, it will be entered into the draw.

This is a wonderful opportunity for young people to experience what Gateshead Libraries has to offer them. For those not already members joining is simple. Just pop along to your local library to sign up.

Entry forms for Books Make Prizes are available at all Gateshead libraries and staff will be happy to answer any queries. So what are you waiting for? The sooner you enter the greater the chance of winning a monthly prize.
