Gateshead FC is delighted to confirm the return of Louis Storey as a player-coach.

The central defender re-unites with Rob Elliot at Gateshead International Stadium until the end of the 2025/26 season and returns to the North East after spending the first half of the season with Enterprise National League South side Dorking Wanderers, for whom he made 23 appearances across all competitions and was named as Player of the Month in September.

The 32-year-old joins Gateshead for the second time having made 139 appearances in just over three years on Tyneside from the summer of 2021 to October 2024, which saw him lift the National League North title and reach the Isuzu FA Trophy final twice in 2023 and 2024, winning the latter and scoring in the penalty shoot-out triumph at Wembley Stadium.

Storey will act as a member of both the playing and coaching staff, working alongside Rob Elliot and Jacob Butterfield, and is eligible for selection for Saturday’s game at Tamworth.

Welcome back, Louis!
